Meta’s Threads social network recently crossed the 150 million monthly users mark, but the company isn’t slowing down its growth engine. To increase engagement, the social media giant is running a limited-time bonus program for threads.

In the last few days, many accounts have posted about this program. The company confirmed to TechCrunch about the limited-time invite-only program for creators, which began testing in March. Meta said that invited creators will have “individual” requirements for the bonus. At the moment, the program is limited to creators in the US only. The company said that if successful, it may expand the program to other regions.

On its support page, Meta says that invited creators must create a public Threads profile and follow the Instagram Creator Incentives rules and bonus rules on Instagram. The company specified that the performance of posts (views) of threads and the number of posts are some of the parameters for creators to receive bonuses.

There are also specific guidelines for what types of positions will be eligible for the bonus program.

For example, one of the requirements states that a post must have at least 2,500 views. Additionally, threads with copyrighted content, no text, and inflated views will not be eligible for post bonuses. Meta says that the content should not have any watermark of TikTok or any other platform like YouTube. Also, the content posted should not be a brand partnership post.

Creators can check their earnings on the professional dashboard and the minimum amount they need to earn to get paid.

,In some cases, you must earn a minimum amount to receive the bonus payout. If you do not reach the minimum amount, you will not receive any bonus payout, but you may be invited to participate in another bonus opportunity in the future,” the company states.

The program may motivate Instagram users with enough followers to post more on threads and, in turn, port some of their followers. Instagram already shows suggested threads on its app. Users will want to see Meta’s X rival more often if their favorite creators are posting on the app.

The new bonus program is also a great opportunity for creators who want to build an audience on a new platform. However, the monetary gains may be temporary as Meta has not detailed long-term plans for creators to make money on threads.
